There's something I've come to realize over this past year. It's one of those things you kind of know, but you don't really know until you for sure know. And it's this... what you put on your body has an astronomical impact on how you feel in your body.
Personally, my style has been all over the map over the years. For a long time I wanted to put no effort into the way I looked (a rebellion against my mom's passion for looking immaculate at all times).
Then I swung hard in the other direction, wearing heels to class in college and never leaving the house without a full face of makeup and hair done.
Then it was my personal training "fits" era, followed by my jeans-and-a-t-shirt moment that lasted... well, longer than a moment.
Then 32 hit and everything in my closet just felt wrong.
I wanted to feel sophisticated and sexy, but subtle. I wanted to be comfortable, but put together. Casual and approachable, but intentional. And every day I walked out of the house in my unofficial uniform of jeans and a body suit top, it just felt more and more out of alignment with who I had become.
You could see it too. In the micro shift forward of my shoulders, in the slightly slower gate, and in the lack of 'shininess' I was bringing as I moved through the world.
So I tried. I tried shopping, looking at pinterest boards, following fashion accounts, and taking advice from stylish friends. But after years of gravitating towards the same cuts, colors, and fabrics, it was hard to break old habits. And frankly, I didn't know what I was doing when it came to putting outfits together.
Enter: Tina Choi. An incredible stylist and personal shopper based out of LA.
I met Tina through Gio, my bestie and regular podcast co-host, and we clicked immediately.
