5 Steps to Nurture Your Vibrant Energy

Who here is still tired even if they get a full night’s sleep?

Who NEEDS coffee in the morning to function?

Who craves sweets in the afternoon as your energy slumps?

Believe me, I used to be right there with you...

And unfortunately, we live in a world where low energy is considered a "normal" part of adulthood, and we only ever attempt to fix the symptoms, not the root cause. 

I can think of no better example than myself. I lived with chronic low energy (I'm talking like, falling asleep at the wheel after getting 12 hours of sleep kind of low energy) because of my Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. 

I was dragging ass for years and the only advice doctor's would give was to up my thyroid dosage. It never worked. 

It wasn't until I changed my diet, eliminated gluten, dairy, corn, soy, and most sugar that I finally started to feel like myself again.

Not saying you have to go that extreme, but with an autoimmune disease and a destroyed gut, I had to to get better. 

The point is, this quick fix, pop-a-pill mentality is infiltrating our entire way of life and it’s leaving us numb to our problems instead of facing them straight on.

But seriously, like seerrriiiooouusslllyyyyyy, if you want to live with power, purpose, and passion, you HAVE to be more intentional about how you’re fueling your body, mind, and spirit.

Because without genuine, real energy, there is no movement. And with no movement, you will stay exactly where you are. 

Also, think about your homework yesterday when you were thinking about your ideal future self. Did she not have crazy high, joyful energy every day? 

Well if we want to start working towards that identity, we've got to get to work.

Which is why today I'm going to teach you how to tap into your deepest wells of energy so you can wake up with more vitality  and go through your day with a bounce in your step.

I want you feeling so damn good, you're able to show up as your best self at your job, in your relationships, and for yourself.

Energy Booster #1: Learn to say no!!

That's right my darling people-pleaser. How often do you feel utterly drained because everyone else's emergencies are becoming your emergencies?

We're so quick to pour ourselves and our energy into other people that we hardly leave any for ourselves. 

I love this analogy: picture yourself as a vase with water full of energy, love, joy pouring into you all the time. But every second of every day you are tipping over to pour that water into everyone else's cup.

Eventually, you tip over enough times you break. 

You do this, instead of standing tall, filling yourself up, and letting the overflow pour into everyone else. 

Energy Booster #2: Prioritize 7-8 hours of sleep like your life depended on it.

Girl friend if you are about to hit me with some excuse as to why "that's impossible," I love you my dear, but I don't want to hear it. 

Even during my craziest days of working 14, 15, 16 hour days, I still manage to get a MINIMUM of 7 hours of sleep every night. 

And before you talk about kids, my sister has 2, my mom had 5, I have many a client with kids, and I'll tell you right now, the ones who believe they can't get their sleep in, don't. The ones who know they can with discipline, planning, and you guessed it, saying no, do. 

So guard your bedtime with your life. 

Energy booster #3: Eat at LEAST 6 servings of fruits and veggies per day, preferably closer to 9!

We wonder why we feel like garbage when we fill our bodies with garbage. Without the nutrients we need, our body is incapable of producing the kind of energy it's capable of.

Fruits and veggies have energy boosting fiber, water, phyto-chemicals, antioxidants, and super clean carbs that will give you a massive boost throughout the day.

And before you ask me, no, fruit is not going to make you fat. 

Energy booster #4: Drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily.

For easy math, say you weighed 100 pounds, you would drink 50 ounces of water per day.

A dehydrated body is a sluggish body, period. 

Energy Booster #5: Prioritize "level up" language. 

What kind of content do you consume on a daily basis? Do you listen to the depressing news. Do you watch vapid celebrity's problems? Do you listen to your girlfriend bitch about her boyfriend every day of the week?

Of course you feel drained!

Make it a point to listen to inspiring podcasts, read motivational books, listen to upbeat music every day to lift your spirits and your energy right up.
