Dive into my best tips for sustainable weight loss, vibrant health, and unstoppable body confidence.
A few days ago I was on a call with a new client who was facing a predicament almost everyone faces when trying to make changes to their nutrition and fitness habits.
She delayed scheduling her second call with me because she was embarrassed that even though we laid out a plan for her, she hadnât followed through with it.
I explained how unbelievably normal this was. So many think if a coach just tells them what to do theyâll be able to go out and immediately crush it. But the truth is no one ever comes to me just needing a plan to follow...

âThere arenât enough hours in the day.â
âIâm too tired.â
âItâs been a stressful day, I deserve a treat.â
âIâm just not motivated.â
âIâll start tomorrow.â
âI donât want to waste food.â
These are just a handful of the things we tell ourselves day in and day out that are keeping us stuck making poor food choices, skipping the gym, and generally not following through on our health goals.
And the thing is, some people will insist on fighting for their excuses. Theyâll clutch to them like a security blanket, theyâll defend them,
... When I say âmindful eatingâ or âlisten to your bodyâ whatâs your instinctual response?
I know for a lot of people their knee jerk reaction is, âMy body wants cheetos and ice cream at every meal, so I donât think you want me listening to my body.â
This is incredibly common and it points to an unfortunate theme:Â we do not trust our bodies. And we do not trust ourselves.
And where does that leave us but to rely on a diet telling us exactly what we are and are not allowed to eat?
But hereâs the irony:Â dieting is not only one of the stronges...

...If you know me you know I'm not a big believer in the New Year's resolution.
Of course I love a good goal, but there's something about the New Year's resolution that pushes people to make grand sweeping declarations about the entirely new person they're going to suddenly be simply because the last number of the year changed.Â
I'll hear things like,
"I'm not going to miss a single workout!" or "I'm not going to give into cravings anymore!" Or "I'm cutting carbs for good this time!"
But we know that's not how transformation works. No date ...
Tell me if you've experienced this situation before...
You're scrolling social media, and one of your favorite health coaches comes on with a really inspiring post and you think to yourself, That's it... I'm doing it.Â
You have a conversation with her, you hand her your credit card, and then you go to start the program and suddenly all that motivation you had when you saw that post disappears.Â
You don't really want to follow her suggestions, you find yourself dodging her calls, you rebel against the very idea of cha...
I'm going to start this episode with one of my most embarrassing stories (if you're squeamish or don't like period talk, go ahead and bail now).Â
It was the first day of my cycle. Always the heaviest. Always the most painful.Â
Some days I can push through with some aspirin and a hot water bottle, but not on days like this. On days like this, I can't even keep aspirin down long enough for it to do anything.Â
The only thing that can help me now is a hot bath. But in this kind of pain that's no easy task.Â
I remember t...
I see people arguing over nutrition research all the time. This study says keto is the best, this study says paleoâs the best, this study says veganâs the best. But hereâs the thing, research and the experts behind it can be skewed, biased, and outdated.Â
How many times have we proven old diets wrong that were once strongly supported by hundreds of studies (the era of âfat makes you fatâ comes to mind)?
Look at the fact that most researchers donât want to use women to test their theories because our hormones âfuck upâ th...
We all have what I call âsprint seasonsâ in our life where it doesnât matter how good we are with time management, our days are just utterly packed.Â
And during those times it can feel like the ONLY option is to completely let go of the reigns on our healthy habits. Thatâs usually when we start to skip meals, hit the drive through, or shovel a handful of goldfish crackers down our throats and call it âlunchâ.
But losing weight and keeping it off canât be about only taking care of yourself when itâs convenient. Youâve go...
My obsession with diet, exercise, and my body weight started at a very early age. I remember devouring nutrition and fitness articles in middle school. Following my momâs workout DVDs before I was 13 years old. Analyzing the small layer of fat around my midsection in the mirrors of my dance studio at 11 years old.
And yet, I would still spend the next 10 years living in a body I hated.
No matter how obsessed I got about what exercises I should do or what diet I should follow, I just couldnât stick with a plan to save m...
